                          Five Acre Farm

A place for souls to grow... A place that feels like home

In a time when families are broken and individuals are isolated due to relocation, divorce, dysfunction, disability, depression and the economy, there is an even greater need not just for community, but for a community of people who appreciate each others differences in backgrounds and abilities, and seek to find things in common.

One thing most of us have in common is an understanding of what is beautiful in this world. The beauty in nature, beauty in music, beauty in children playing. We all love to laugh. We enjoy fresh air and sunshine. Many of us love horses, their big brown eyes, their velvety noses...they are gentle and powerful at the same time. Many of us have fond memories of having fun outside with friends and family, and quieter times of fishing with dad or a grandfather, or sitting alone, privately, surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors.

Some of us had a family home where we could enjoy some or all of these things. But many of us didn't. And some of us who may have had that growing up, perhaps on any Sunday afternoon, have moved away because of a job opportunity. And with the pressure of work and day to day family life, the closest we can come to that experience is a public park.

What if there was a place that was like the ultimate grandma's house? A little farm with a couple of gentle horses, a pretty little lake to fish in? Wildflowers blooming in the spring, leaves turning gold and orange in the fall, roaring fires in the winter, and cool breezes in the shade in the summer? What if you knew you were welcome to drop by on any Sunday afternoon just to relax and visit? Or could come anytime during the week for a quiet retreat?

And what if every time you visited on a Sunday afternoon, there were guitars playing and singing? Laughing and dancing around? People there to teach you what they know... about playing guitar, writing songs, working with horses or coming up with fun things to do? Where, on that common ground, we are free to enjoy and appreciate each others differences...each individual's unique gifts and abilities.

A place where you are always welcome. A place where you can make friends. A place that actually encourages your soul to grow.

The people who come to Five Acre Farm each have a unique and interesting story. Each one has something to share. And on every Sunday afternoon, the owner and guests welcome all to come enjoy a special, refreshing, soulful respite before the week begins again. Enjoying excellent, creative music, and visiting with the people who share their gifts and talents to make “Something Sundays” at Five Acre Farm a meaningful and valuable part of everyone's week.

And throughout the week at Five Acre Farm, there are multiple unique opportunities for groups and individuals having different interests and aptitudes: retreats, field trips, fishing, creative and educational classes, music, song writing, interaction with gentle, therapeutic horses, bonfires, picnics and more.
